If you are an author, publisher or publicist and you’ve landed on this page, I thank you for  considering my blog for review purposes. This page will answer all your questions regarding my review policy.

Which books will I consider for review?

I love literary fiction, historical fiction about World War II, mystery/thrillers (no horrors though) and sometimes young adult fiction. Please check out my about me for more information about me and who my favourite authors are. Genres that I’m not interested in include romance, erotica, science fiction and fantasy. I do make exceptions and would consider non-fiction, memoirs and religious fiction.

Will I guarantee a book review?

I try to review every book I read, however please note that each book sent to me is for review consideration.

I do not guarantee reviews for unsolicited review copies. I also do not schedule review dates.

Physical or E-Book?

Only printed copies of books will be accepted for review purposes.

If you are so kind to send me a printed copy of the book for review and you live outside SA, please can I request that you make sure once you offer this that you also agree to cover all costs related to sending me one.

If you believe that your book might interest me and want me to review your book, please fill in the form below:

  • As a non-professional reviewer, I was surprised by your page. I liked the word “honesty” as a means to a reviewer’s end.

It takes me a long time to read a book and much longer to review one. I don’t know how you do it.

I like that you give the author a break if you don’t like the book. I only read books that I think I will like, because it has to relate to my life as I see the world. But, of course, I would hold it as I do the others and comment as thoughts come to me. It’s just concentration, isn’t it?

You said you like comments, and that’s why I posted. I am glad you are in the world and doing what I love.

    • Thanks for stopping by and commenting Mario! All book bloggers I know has a review policy, maybe you should consider getting one 🙂 We must always write an honest review, our readers depend on us to do so, don’t you think?

I am not a quick reader either, I spend about a week on a book that’s over 400 pages. I tend to keep my reviews short by giving a short overview and my thoughts on it. I don’t want to bore people by giving a book analysis 🙂

I think we all have certain types of books we might like, but only upon reading them we can determine whether we like it or not. I will go pop over to our blog to check it out. Happy reading!

  • On the recommendation of a friend whom I had recently become acquainted with I downloaded “Afterword”. I was so relieved to read your review and that you also found the book wanting. I applaud anyone who writes a book, good or bad. On the bright side the book may be turned into a movie, and may win an academy award. I became so impatient after fifty pages that I went to the last few pages to find out who started the fire. And I did not care and do not remember who it was or why the person did it. I probably wouldn’t be so testy about the book if I had borrowed it
    from the library.
