Give-away: Room and Hausfrau

giveaway_jan2016
Happy new year! Hope you all had a wonderful festive season and hope that 2016 are treating you all well so far.

I hope that, like me, 2016 will be great reading year for you.  2015 was personally a slow year for me in terms of reading and blogging, however I am enthusiastic about 2016 and looking forward to many good reads and spending more time doing what has always made me happiest: reading.

I have two books to give-away, which was sponsored by the lovely people at Loot. It is:

1) Hausfrau by Jill Alexander Essbaum (which I loved, you can find my review here)

2) Room by Emma Donoghue

Good luck and happy reading!

  • Does that say only open to residents of South Africa? Just wanted to check!

    • Yes, it does. It’s a built-in setting and I think normally US people use it most, so now when you select it says “the South Africa” and of course sounds funny as oppose to “the US” 🙂

      • Damn! I’m in the UK. I haven’t read Room but the trailers for the film look really excellent – not at all depressing, like I always thought the book might be, but life-affirming, if that doesn’t sound too cringey…! Btw, I do like your blog – you’ve got a good mixture of books. By calling mine “crimeworm” I kind of boxed myself into a corner genre-wise – I DO read other types of books. I’ll give anything a bash if it grabs my attention, but I guess crime is my favourite. I see you reviewed A Kind Worth Killing – fantastic book, really well-plotted, down to the very last line…!

        • I must still read Room! 🙂
Thanks for the compliment re blog. I try to read diverse, but there are some genre’s I haven’t explored yet and might never.

A Kind Worth Killing was recommended to me by a friend and surprisingly I liked it a lot!

  • Megs H

The Magicians by Lev Grossman. This book is often described as something like “Harry Potter goes to
college,” which sounds like such delightful novel which will get me pumped for back-to-work,
even if you can’t learn magic there. Plus, it’s the first in a trilogy, so I’ll be engaged for weeks.

  • Oh what a lovely giveaway for two books that I adored! Sharing this on social media now 🙂

  • Cathy Badenhorst

Would love to read Hausfrau by Jill Alexander Essbaum. I have read your fab review and others I have come across and it sounds really intriguing.

  • Such great books, both of these. Cheers to an amazing 2016!

  • RehanaSeedat.5

REHANA SEEDAT email: dseedat@telkomsa.net I would love to read good morning Mr Mandela

  • Shani

Would love to read Room 🙂

  • Loved both of these! I finally saw the movie version of Room the other night and it was even better than I hoped. Happy 2016!

    • Thank you, Shannon. I hope I can read Room before the movie, but it will most likely not happen. Definitely going to make sure I go and watch Room in the cinema. Happy 2016!
