Pride & Prejudice Readalong for Austen in August

Hi Bookworms! If you follow me on twitter, you might have seen that I’ve mentioned that I will be participating in the Austen in August event, hosted by Lost Generation Reader. The lovely Wendy @ Wendsend brought it to my attention and because I have a few Austen novels on my Classics list, I’ve decided to join in. My lack of participation in the Classics challenge needs some attention and what better motivation than this event? Austen in August and The Classics Club – two birds with one stone!

Because we both want to read the same books, we have decided to join reading forces and do a readalong for Pride & Prejudice. If you want to read this book or have read it, please join us in the discussions. You can find the reading schedule in Wendy’s start-up post. One challenge and two events? That’s three stones now! 🙂

If you want to participate in this challenge, leave me a comment below and tell me how many birds you’re killing with one stone in August! You can also let myself (@thebookmusings) and Wendy (@wensendblog) know on twitter that you’re joining us, by using the event hashtag #AustenInAugustLGR and #PandPReadalong.

As much as I like some of the classics, they can sometimes make for pretty heavy going. Takes an entire chapter to say what modern writers get down in a paragraph or two. Having said that, I hope you enjoy your Austen month!

    • There are some classics that thankfully doesn’t do that. I hope that P&P will be a good read though, been interested in reading it for a while. If you have read it, you’re welcome to still join in on the discussions!

  • Pride and Prejudice is my second-favorite Austen book. I hope you’ll like it! I won’t have time to read along with you, but I’ll follow your discussions.

    • You’re welcome to join in on the discussions!

  • I will give it a shot! I did Austen in August last year and read Northanger Abbey, which was my first Austen. This year I was going to read Pride and Prejudice and I love the idea of joining a read along. So count me in.

    • Oh yes, and this will be killing three birds for me, 1 – the read along, 2 – My TBR challenge and 3 – The Austen in August challenge. Yippee!

    • Great! 🙂 And thank you for joining!

  • I love this book! Hope you enjoy it. 🙂

      Thank you!

  • While I’ve read some of Jane Austen’s novels, I’ve never read Pride and Prejudice. Please count me in! Looking forward to the discussion!
